Schedule Fun! – All work will burn you out. The stress will constantly release adrenaline which causes severe health issues. Increased blood pressure and heart rate as well as weakening your immune system. So, stay healthy – have fun!
Try something new – You can’t get to where you want to go if you don’t change. Change happens when you get out there and do things differently. Start small if you’re worried and try a food you’ve never had before. Grow your confidence to try new things.
Take a look at yourself – Are you really someone you would choose to hang around or work with? If not, maybe it’s time to make changes. Our choices in jobs, friends and significant others shows us something about how we think and feel about ourselves.
Get rid of “frenimies” – You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Take this seriously. Stop filling your time with people who wouldn’t give the same effort back or who are constantly negative. You’ll find that this new free time will be filled with the people you want!
Go Local! – Spend your money locally. The smaller grocery store, a farmer’s market, the local coffee shop (Not Starbucks or Peet’s), a boutique and maybe even a local Credit Union for your banking.
MOOOVE! – Get up and move around. Most of us sit and sit and sit all day long. Then we go home and sit some more. You don’t have to hit the gym 10+ hours per week to make a difference. Instead, get up and walk, take the stairs when you can, park at the back of the parking lot it’s all easy and will make a big difference.
Practice random acts of kindness – Stop being so hurried and frustrated all the time. Smile and hold the door for someone. Pay for the person behind you’s coffee. Help someone for no reason.
Read every day – Open your mind to new ideas. Take in different perspectives. You never know where the idea from that book or an article can take you. It could inspire your next business venture or improve your relationships. Commit to this and it will change your life.
Figure out what is MOST important to you – This is important both in and away from the office. What are your priorities? Where will they take you? Is that the life you want?
Get up, get dressed and take on the world! – Be ready to present your best self forward any day at any time. You don’t have to be boardroom ready but be showered and coordinated. It gives you confidence that you don’t have when you know you look like you just rolled out of bed.
