According to Twitter, they are working on a handful of changes to improve the experience and interface for their users. Their developers and programmers are working on a few things that will be rolling out in the coming year. The biggest news is the changes they're making to increase the available character count. You may have heard that @names will no longer be counted against you. This will allow conversations to be conducted with greater ease. Another change coming is that media attachments - photos, GIFs, videos and polls - will not be counted. These links are often 20+ characters and can make phrasing a tweet difficult. These two changes alone could open up 40+ characters per tweet. |
Twitter veterans are used to adding a period before the @ symbol so that the tweet will go out to their entire list of followers instead of just the person the tweet is aimed at. Now, this will no longer be an issue. As mentioned before, you can also Retweet your tweet to make sure it is seen by your followers.
Have you heard of #Stickers for Twitter? Millions of pictures are shared daily on Twitter, as well as other platforms, and now Twitter has a way to spice up your images with just a touch or two on your smart phone. These are a great way to show what you're thinking, feeling or even a cause you want to support. The coolest part of this new feature is that, depending on the stickers you choose, your tweet becomes searchable in a whole new timeline. This timeline is full of the other photos users all over the world used that same sticker in. |
Keep an eye out for another video feature, coming soon. When you tap on a video or vine to watch it, you'll automatically be brought into full screen mode, with suggestions of other videos you may like at the bottom.
